working on concept thoughts of what THE BRIDGE could be after last night and how I respect @ned reacting today looking for a permanent videographer.

wanna work for steemit as a videographer/editor based in austin, you might wanna apply for this on lever.co

shame it’s a fixed position in austin ;(
otherwise i would have applied ;)

ned, you certainly need a spock! :) thank you to my better half @dayleeo for the mashup! :)

I could visible see that @ned was frustrated and annoyed that the switching for the desktop was not working as expected or as clean as it could be, you really need someone who can adapt on his feet and not just have one way of doing it but have multiple backup ways of making sure that ned can carry through his mission.

You can have as many backup scripts and adaption plans if something fails but if your main components you need to show off certain things don’t work then you’ve got a problem, you need to have fail-overss, redundancies in place when it comes to

I’m gonna be building something of a concept over here over the next week with a bunch of features and hopefully a stream to youtube and then into vimm, also design some transitions and interactive features to bring people into live video chats and such like, if anyone wants to help with this (in terms of being live at certain points) you’ll need skype so I can bring you into the stream — please note my machine is very old and struggles with streaming otherwise I’d be doing it all the time! :)

what the bridge could be

I think the majority of the work as to what @ned wants to do is pretty much there, he has a script of sorts and he has features and interactive that he wants to bring to it, we need to open that up to a bunch of questions from the community, pre picked before he starts instead of just showing the website with user accounts that don’t actually exist on the blockchain, if that was really dynamic then boy would we have something. .. this is a bullet point list below of things I would do. ..

  • interactive, it’s gotta be radio call in style, you need a second person who can direct and deal with the calls, set up an asterix setup for people to be able to call into too.
  • live dapp pitch with real time prize pot delegations for a period of time, maybe even a week to see if it get’s traction until you next online
  • live video chat with big steem holders with ‘an audience with ned’ kinda vibe, they have questions and have been around for a long while, they should be able to pitch valuable questions.
  • real time polls
  • define what ‘the bridging’ component is
  • how many other blockchain CEO’s are doing weekly live streaming?
  • interviews with other people in the office
  • collection of NDI enabled cameras, configured in a CCTV like config, could be just streaming all week with no audio until the new show goes live again, would connect steemians with steemit.

few truths however you need to know about getting the bridge weekly live stream properly positioned.

Building an audience on a streaming platform takes time, the fact that you had over a hundred odd people last night was actually pretty good considering, it’s a lot harder and you need more automation when your getting into 1000’s and 10k beyond — you don’t just get to that, it takes day in, day out (streamers) or you have a weekly schedule (live-streamers)

the good upside is that you’ve got a great following on steem (obv) so we need to do some management there in building an email list for audience engagement before people tune in.

streamers treat those six hours a day (or more) as a job, I know @ned mentioned girls doing ASMR but you can’t just fire up a stream today and do ASMR and have the same amount of viewers, building up a brand name and community takes time — for ninja it was eight years, I’m guessing he saw something in a business magazine about live streaming .. .

Instead of being concerned about finding a newer audience maybe invested in the one that’s already here, who’s been here for the last two years wanting to help, looking for support, who have skills and talents and already know the platform instead of just trawling for new meat on live streaming platforms.

I expect that @vimm are a little frustrated that the bridge is not using that platform especially as it’s hard wired into steem but in this instance stability would also be my call, maybe stream into vimm, I could set that up in like ten minutes to do that — I’d like to try a big stream thou to see if @vimm could support over 100 viewers at any one time (not trying to be insulting) but I get while you would use a mature established platform plus your adding more things into an already fragile setup.

Gonna step through with this when I have time to spare to build it out, think I’ll just live stream as I’m setting it up and testing out new ideas.

Cheers!

p.s — if anyone has the tips I need to setup the discord text web hook bridge drop me a message please in the comments, cheers — I could probably work it out but if you have the lowdown that would help me deploy it on own discord.

p.p.s — obviously I don’t want to use trek stuff, I’m just using it as a placeholder for now and would ideally like to have some stuff rendered out for scenes completely custom, that stuff costs I’m afraid! :)
