Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are two well known names in Hollywood. One can be placed in the category of the best director of all time and another can be easily placed in the category of the best actor of all time.
So far these two have worked together in 5 movies, all of which are critically acclaimed plus box office hit movies. I watched 4 movies in the middle of it.
Personally, 4 movies seemed like a masterpiece to me or the level around it. So there was no reason not to watch The Post movie. Plus Spielberg is my 2nd favorite director in Hollywood and Tom Hanks is my favorite actor.
The Post The movie is based on a true story. The context of the story was about the Vietnam War. At that time some war related top secret documents were leaked.
With which the government is in great danger. The government has been following the New York Times and the Washington Post for leaking the documents.
People know about the many misdeeds of the government on war related issues and their manipulation on various issues.
How much more they have risked the lives of thousands of soldiers just for Pride. If you watch the trailer with a little effort, you will get an idea of the basics.
The first half of the movie is quite slow, especially for the first 30 minutes of story building. But in the second half, the story continues to be dynamic.
Overall the movie had a great presentation plus a great screenplay. The way every scene of the movie, every dialogue is highlighted, it really felt like I was watching a true story, not a movie. Also the movie has a lot of strong cast.
Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, who are in the list of the best of all time, have Bruce Greenwood as well as many other familiar faces in the TV series who are: - Starring Jesse Plemons (one of many favorite actors), Zach Woods starring in Silicon Valley.
The 50 million movie grossed 18.6 million at the box office. The movie also received Oscar nominations in 2016 for Best Movie and Best Actress. If I make a list of the best three movies of 2018: -
1.The Big Sick
2.Dunkrik
3.The Post
I will keep these three movies. Since the first one was not nominated for an Oscar, in my opinion, Dunkrik and The Post was a movie that got an Oscar in 2016.
However, in addition to receiving 2 Oscar nominations, the movie has received Golden Globe Award nominations in 6 categories. According to the National Board of Review, it was the best movie of 2016 and also in the list of the top ten movies of Time and the American Film Institute.
Today is the birthday of my favorite actor Tom Hanks. On this occasion I tried to write something about his latest movie. If you are a fan of Spielberg + Hanks. This is a must watch movie for you. My personal rating is 9/10.
