Top 30 Business Ideas for 2018!

in thealliance •  7 years ago

I would like to share with you thirty specific business ideas that have a big demand in many markets across the world. This list is based on my personal research in the last six months of 2017. I used many tools to conduct this research. Among those research tools are:

  • My personal 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship
  • Personal interviews with many successful business owners and entrepreneurs across the Europe, North America, Japan, the Middle East and South-East Asia.
  • Long conversations with my mentors from:
    • T. Harv Ekr foundation
    • Rich Dad Technologies
    • Anik Signal Internet Marketing Coaching
  • Entrepreneur Magazine 2017 issues
  • The Economist 2017 issues
  • Financial Times 2017 issues
  • Dubai Government SME promotion initiative

Some of those ideas are online and others are offline. They are need minimum capital and can be very successful in 2018.

Remember, even if you made it big here in Steemit and you start gaining some steady cash-flow, you still need to have various sources of income so that you can maximize your potential earning and build real wealth. If you have a chance to either start any of those businesses or invest / partner in some existing ones, you'll be among the winners in 2018, regardless which direction the volatile cryptocyrrency market goes.

As much as I am into crypto... I'd love to get into something completely unrelated such as small land or greenhouse farming.

Thanks for the little push to keep motivated!

CHICKENS!!!!!

Nice picture... Yes, farming and poultry business is very strategic and can also be very profitable if done right. You need a back up business if you're into cryptos, and that's the best backup plan over the coming few years.

Crypto. EOS

Of the 30 things I was curious to see how many of them anyway intersected with the blockchain craze :)

Crypto ICO Analysis sounds like a big one. Ooh. A steemit social media consultancy. Interesting list.

Yes, people are doing it for free on YouTube, but it can definitely be monetized. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for this. Need to make extra income.

You're welcome... Yes, go for it and take the first step towards your goal.

I find it interesting that your number one suggestion is small land farming. I believe that (at least in the US) we need a lot more of this. Knowing where one's food comes from usually ends at the grocery store, and big ag has notoriously been feeding us nutrient deficient junk for decades now. We need a minimum of 10X the number of farmers that we have now, and maybe more like 100X.

Yes, I have the same view too...not just in the US though, but worldwide. I didn't put this list in a descending or an ascending priority order, but I did mean to put the small land farming on the top of the list because of the reasons you mentioned.

nice info brother

Thank you. I hope it helps to empower people to take action.

These are great tips! The business idea that resonates with me is 'e-commerce website for non tradition products', I'm about to sell my original classroom activities on ebay to test the waters, then set-up a website.

Fantastic. Go for it and persevere till you succeed... Once you're all set up let us know about your new website so we can help you promote it.

Ahh, thank you @nuridin, I've been at it night and day for months, with little sleep. Your words encourages me to continue on this journey, the effort is constant, but I'm determined. I'll definitely let you know about the website!

I really enjoyed this post! Very good advice and tips! That list is a good starting point for many among us!
Thank you for sharing this list and your knowledge with us!

Thank you for sharing this information with us!
I totally agree with "you still need to have various sources of income"
We shouldn't depend on one source of income :)

You're welcome @hananova. Thanks for passing by. Hopefully, you can find few ideas here that resonate with you.

great post I am always looking out for new opportunities.

Thank you.. Just grab those opportunities when you find them and don't let them slip away.

I have two of the mentioned activities. One is farming i started it small but it grows big. We even started to export ocra to turkey. And it is really makeing my day noth sweating and lucrative.
The second is bussiness study service. Am an accountant, economist and it specialist. Both bacheler degree. So it makes me a perfect candidate for the studing.
Acctual selection of your list are really wonderful. I found them really intersting and rewarding. It can manage your chash flaw in a posetive variable. Anyway i wish you could have added cryptocurency market to your list.

Respect

Congratulations for being involved in those different kinds of business and I wish you the best of luck in both. Farming will always stay needed no matter what..I can say the same thing about IT related specializations. Just make sure you build one business at a time and don't move to the next business before you've established a decentralized system for managing your business. That means you business should not depend on your existence for its success. And yes, I did mention a cryptocurrency market related idea which was idea number 30.

I meant crypto investment.

Yes, crypto investment, like any other kind of investment makes you an investor not an entrepreneur. That's why my post is focused on business ideas that can potentially turn into profitable businesses rather than successful investor.

To be honest, this list is rather “meh”. There’s nothing exceptional about it nor is any service/industry explained why. In fact it feels as if this list was the result of an exercise in making sure that any industry with a “ring” to it was mentioned. Based on the list of the sectors, there is no reason why anybody should consider of those.

Restaurants, catering will always do well... as long as the operators know what they are doing.

VA market is over flooded and user acquisition is absolutely expensive, almost as expensive as in the gaming niche. Additionally most VA providers are in race to the bottom, often paying ridiculous fees to the platform because of the low wages. Only platforms with huge turn over, and ability to legally operate as escrow service, can make the payment gateway math work.

Anything (online) writing related: see VA market. Only the best make a living and succeed, and that often only after years of building online writing archives.

Too many services on the list are sectors way too crowded already and because of seemingly low step in barriers, they suffer with races to the bottom.

Almost anything on the list first and foremost requires the knowledge to market your services. If the sector is virtual, that requires even better knowledges of (self) marketing because anybody thinks they can do it and do also try their hand at it.

And like many such lists, the one most in demand/needed is not mentioned: plumbers. Anybody willing to make their hands dirty with somebody else’s excrements, as well as wants to graft hard and provide emergency repairs for some years, will be a winner and soon be capable to operate a business with several employees.

You're right that the data, stats and detailed reason for each point is not mentioned here, otherwise, this post would have been at least 30 times longer. This is meant to be a conclusion not a detailed research post. And of course, this is not an exclusive list. That's why it's titled "top 30" not "only 30". The handwork based work you mentioned like plumbing can relate to number "20" on the list or can even be a stand alone point, with many other possible successful ideas. The whole point of this post is to push people to think about what kind of business can they start wit minimum capital and start taking action. And yes, regardless which business you do, you need exceptional marketing skills to compete and do well. This is a basic concept in entrepreneurship which I might even make a separate post about it.
VA / Online related services / Graphic design or any of the ideas you didn't like because you say they are over crowded, I will need to see some data to support your claim that they are overcrowded compared to the current worldwide demand. And besides, the fact that some don't do a good job providing a specific service, in a certain area, or even if most people don't provide a good job, doesn't undervalue the market of that service.
Your input is thought provoking and brings interesting points.... Thanks for sharing your view on this.

Make it a series. I would love to see reasoning and I bet so would many others.

Even if we disagree. That could be additional awesome interaction.

Thanks for putting such a list out there, actually. Without content we would never learn because we would all only agree with the (little) known.

As for internet related services: the internet has systemic discovery issues. I believe both in long tail and in (ultra) local coverage and marketing of such services. Even more so in true excellence.

But because most of those niches already have their own Goliaths, with huge marketing budgets, I think to deliver excellence alone nowadays isn’t sufficient anymore. The internet has democratized a lot, like globalization has, but it surely made entry much more difficult, not merely more competitive.

Long tail and ultra local marketing of services can be key to stand out. But most often the starter doesn’t know that.

Totally agree @fknmayhem. You nailed it when you said that those niches have their own Goliaths, and that ultra local marketing of services can be key to stand out. No doubt about that. There's almost no niche in business now that doesn't have its already established tycoons. I say, there's still potential for new comers if they know what they are doing, provide superb quality and practice real marketing. And yes, I want to make a series with more details and supporting facts, but those posts might better be videos through Dtube rather than long posts, which many people might not be patient enough to read.

I would totally agree! 31. Event Hosting :)

Good one. There will always be events / weddings / conferences no matter what the economy's like.

Seems like it... People naturally celebrate, which is good, and given their busy lives working or what have you, need a call in expert. It's one of my things :).
