There's a new hot podcast recorded here in Birmingham, Alabama called Nasty Snacks. Amanda and Saski are the hilarious hosts who "eat nasty snacks so you don't have to." Essentially, the girls get really strange, weird, bazaar, down right disgusting foods. They then eat them, describe it with clever adjectives, ridiculous vamping, foul language, and a barrage of imaginative profanity. It's basically a comic routine that will make you gag. I decided syndicate one of their shows into my radio show sweet science radio and segue the "sweet" part of my show with "snacks" of their show. Makes sense to me. Anyway, last night was the first show doing live in front of an audience at the Comedy Club Stardome here in Birmingham. Last night their first mystery nasty snack was a "Century Egg."

Wikipedia
A Century egg or Pidan (Chinese: 皮蛋; pinyin: pídàn), also known as preserved egg, hundred-year egg, thousand-year egg, thousand-year-old egg, millennium egg, skin egg and black egg, is a Chinese preserved food product and delicacy made by preserving duck, chicken or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months, depending on the method of processing. Apparently, it smelled like sulfur, looked and tasted worse.

The second snack was even worse than the first. As expected, I was called on stage to be a guinea pig and sample the second nasty snack. With green par can lights over to the stage and dramatic music playing they uncovered the second nasty snack. It was hardly appetizing...

BABY EELS!

Being that these are my friends, I was put on the spot, I excepted the offer to eat six of these things. They joined me and devoured the worm-like sushi! I had to be a good sport. But, it wasn't all that bad.

Then they finished the night talking about bat genitalia and how the bat's goober is the largest in the animal kingdom compared to the penis/body ratio. The live show was entertaining, to say the least.
