Let's jump right into answering the three questions:
How did I find The Alliance?
I've been following communities like this for a while, knowing the importance of having these sort of smaller but closer groups on here. Over time, more and more of my favorite people have joined #TheAlliance, which just made it even more appealing. These include: @battleaxe, @topkpop, @ancapbarbie, @jacobts, the list can go on for a while.
Why do I want to be here?
Spending so much of my time helping new and smaller users, I often feel that some of the more established people fall off of my radar. Having so many of those I want to continue supporting already being in this group..it will help to keep their selves and/or content in front of me.
I'm always more than happy to help, answer questions, etc...but I'm sure there are some great ideas or other things I can learn myself from those in your group.
What qualities do I have that would make me a valued member of the family?
My niche on Steemit for a long time has been as a newbie helper, mentor along with sharing my knowledge of this site and sometimes crypto in general. I don't get caught up in fights or drama, having a firm belief that "It's not about being Right...It's about being Better!" I love providing what I can to help others grow as people, content creators, etc and there's nothing better being among others doing the same! Let's find the win/win scenarios.
You can usually see me moderating Steem Chat general, helping build up the Steemit #LGBT Discord, supporting initiative like #TeamGood, or recording various podcast episodes. I like to think my track record on Steemit speaks for itself, but definitely feel free to ask if there is anything else you would like to know.

Very praiseworthy action is to help others, devoting time that is something that cannot be bought, because of its high value. It is very correct to ask for reciprocity when you give yourself and do work ad honorem, I appreciate people who have that value. After reading your post, check out the alliance's blog and I agree that the rules are not difficult to follow, but they do require commitment that we must have as a community member. Through you I congratulate all members who fulfill and help others to grow in this wonderful steemit world.

Whereas I have seen "The Alliance" pop up more and more, I must confess that I don't know a whole lot about it; but I DO find it interesting how the members of Steemit have increasingly "self-organized" into communities, absent the long promised "Communities" feature from STINC.
I'm pretty much in anything that favors content and cooperation over money and greed.

I was in a similar boat, but kept seeing more and more Steemians I was 'closer' to getting accepted in there. I'm not in there myself just yet, but I would expect this to align pretty well with what you're looking for. Yea...it's always better when something is wanted on Steemit...to just find a way to do it without Steemit, lol. I'm definitely interested to see how they go when STINC launched them...but we've gotta keep moving in the mean time. :)

Much the same thing I'm experiencing; lot of people I follow and respect have the banner at the bottom of their posts... so maybe there's something there.
