Kolo is a village made up of Industrous men and women. kolo has great warriors, they defeated the people of Okitu during there land dispute, they also regain all there stolen land properties from the people of Akama. Kolo community is widely known as the number one that has the largest mineral resourse that make them the number one richest community ever. The people of Kolo are also craft men and women that have taken their products round the world. People from far and near come to kolo to buy their produce.
There is a big river located at the east of kolo. People have tell many stories about this river, Some said the river is the main source of their greatness, wealth and strength. Some said their ancestors are the causes of their fortunes.
It was made to know that during the olden days,the people of kolo where worshipping the goodess of the river, performing sacrifies, appeasing their gods, the goddess of the river was happy that she blesses each and every indigene of the community, both young and aged to their generations. This makes them successful in whatever they laid their hand onto. There women are blessing to their husbands. That's why they said if you married a girl from kolo you married riches and wealth, therefore, young men always went to kolo in search of a woman to marry, even strangers who were born and brought up in kolo benefits from the blessings, but, something happened oneday.
Ibekwe the son of Mazi Njoku a stranger in the land committed an abomination in the sacred river. He urinated in the river that makes the river goddess angry, and pronoucement was made against the strangers in the land through the eye of the gods, therefore, any stranger that go close to the river shall be drown, there shall be no more blessing from the river anymore, from that day on the sea started producing dangerous animals that eat up strangers and some comes outside the river to human houses to eat them up.
One day, a son of mazi Okafor, returned from the city unknown of what is going on, and was drown and buried near the waterside.
