THE DIARY GAME : 11/08/2020 | 11th diary entry: Celebrating janmastami

in thediarygame •  4 years ago

As I mentioned in my yesterday's diary post, Today is Janamastami, Lord Krishna's birthday and in India, we celebrate it with all pomp and show.
So I started my day early today. Woke up early and took a shower right after that. I didn't have anything in the morning, not even my morning tea as I was observing fast.

So after taking a shower, I did a little decoration of my small temple, and I worshiped God. Then I prepared my tea and had fox nuts with it. We have some set of rules to follow while observing a fast like what we can eat and what not as some food items are forbidden to eat in a fast. Fox nuts are a light snack but very healthy.

Today the whole day I was mostly cooking for celebrations, I prepared sweets, we call it prasad to offer god. I prepared mix dry fruit pag , I mixed grated coconut, fried almonds, cashews, raisins, pistachios, and Fox nut all together and added them in sugar syrup and again mixed everything thoroughly and left it to be rested for some time. Later it became like a dry fruit bar.

Then in lunch, I prepared buckwheat puri and aloo tomato curry (Potato and tomato curry). I was very hungry as I didn't have anything since morning so I had my lunch. Then I was watching tv for some time while chatting on WhatsApp with my friends. Everybody was celebrating Janmashtami today.

I also made Panchamrut, which is made of curd, raw milk, pure ghee, honey, and dry fruits, and Panjiri which is fried wheat flour with sugar and lots of dry fruits.

Ahhh, I was tired like hell.

In the evening I rested for some time and today also I skipped my workout as I was already working a lot indirectly :P, a good excuse, no? Yes, but there was no excuse to have my tea. So I made myself one hot cup of ginger tea.

It was around 9 p.m I prepared dinner, Dinner menu was Puri and Paneer ki sabzi(Cottage cheese curry.).
We had to start our celebration and worship(puja) at sharp 12 a.m, so till that time, I spoke with my family over the phone and then got ready for the puja. Voila! It was 12 a.m and we hailed Lord Krishna and celebrated his birthday.

You had a very busy day today. You have prepared many different kinds of delicious food in one day. I also love to make different recipes and share them on my blog. I saw fox peanuts for the first time, if you share a meal you made in detail, can I prepare the meal you made myself? Dishes of different countries always attract my attention. :) #onepercent #turkey #tr
