Hello steemians,
Today I had the great pleasure of accompanying my son Skander to a special celebration organized at his primary school: Orange Day, this event was designed to honor the orange, an emblematic fruit of our dear Tunisia, and to raise children's awareness of its benefits and its cultural and economic importance, a return to a colorful, tasty and educational day.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by an explosion of color, the whole school was decorated in warm tones of orange and green, reminiscent of the natural hues of orange trees, a large banner welcomed the students and their families with a phrase inspiring celebrating the richness of nature, garlands, decorative paper panels depicting smiling oranges and orange blossoms adorned the walls and tables.
The day's program was displayed in the main hall: educational workshops, artistic activities, a tasting of orange products, and even a culinary competition, everything was carefully prepared so that the children could learn while having fun .
Skander and his comrades were dressed for the occasion in orange aprons decorated with citrus motifs, they first took part in a craft workshop where they made paper decorations, including origami oranges and flowers symbolizing Tunisian orchards, Skander proudly made a large paper flower which he showed me with a beaming smile.
Then, the children were treated to a short lesson on the benefits of oranges, a local farmer was invited to talk about citrus cultivation in Tunisia, explaining how this fruit is harvested and exported around the world, the students learned fascinating facts, such as the vitamin C content of oranges and its role in strengthening the immune system.
The tasting break was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day, a large table covered with an orange tablecloth hosted an impressive variety of food and drinks, you could find fresh orange juice, cakes orange, artisanal jams and even candied orange peel, Skander, always curious, insisted on tasting a piece of chocolate and orange cake which he found "delicious and soft".
The children also participated in an orange juice making competition, Skander, with his usual enthusiasm, took part in the activity and expressed his pride by serving a glass of fresh juice that he had prepared himself , it was a pure moment of joy.
To immortalize this beautiful day, I filmed some notable moments that I will share soon, the video captures the joy of the children, the beauty of the decorations and the collective spirit that reigned among the families present, looking at these images, we feel the energy and enthusiasm that animated this celebration.

Orange Day was not only a celebration, but also an opportunity for children to learn essential values such as respect for nature, the importance of healthy eating and collective work, Skander returned home full of stories to tell and with a new appreciation for this fruit which is part of our Tunisian heritage, these kinds of events show how schools play a crucial role in the holistic education of children, combining academic learning, creativity and cultural awareness.
In conclusion, this day will remain engraved in our memories as a moment of sharing, discovery and national pride. Thank you to the school and to all those who contributed to the success of this unique event.
