I have many thoughts about this myself. First of all, 110% agree with you on everything you say. I am also very impressed by the way you've handled this whole episode, with a lot of grace and kindness, much more than I'd ever be able to bring up.
The link between the self-victimization and the arrogance of taking what isn't yours, is extremely clear in this case. I wish there was something we could do to constructively change this person's understanding of what property is and how copyright works, but from reading her long rants on how she sees the world, I have concluded there is no way that is going to happen.

Standing with you, all of the way. I hope you will not let this get to you in any way except as another example of the strength of community.

The support of my family at the Block means a lot to me. Goes without saying that walking away from Steemit is one think. Walking away from all of you guys at The Block is just impossible.

She won't understand, because she refuses to. You can't 'win' with these sort of people, this person in particular is psychotic. You engage further, and you get dragged into the mud with them. It's best at this point to continue to flag her, get Steemcleaners to continue to flag her plagiarizing as well, and ignore her. Get other people that you know to flag her, I flagged her recent post as well. If you engage her, you give her exactly what she's asking for - notoriety and attention. Don't talk about her by name, don't respond to her spam. She's currently thriving off this drama, most people like her do. Once you realize it's fruitless to continue, once you realize how a person is, withdraw from the conversation.

I, for one, welcome my new Internationally Acclaimed Author/Goddess.

Always love you, Tiny J. Soon this will be one of those Remember when...? episodes, and eventually you'll even laugh at it. Until then, sip some tea. Light a candle. Breathe. Smile. Cry a bit. Then smile some more. Let it fall behind you, as you move forward and we move with you.

Aw Jon. How do you always say such perfect and lovely things? Hugs

Nothing to say that hasn’t been said better already. Don’t let her get you down. hugs

Thank you.
Hugs

I share your frustration and dismay. I really don't understand why this is happening the way it is. You approached the situation far more calmly and rationally than I ever could. I wish I could give you real hugs and not just virtual ones to show how much you mean to me.

I don't think there is a lot to understand. Apparently, playing the poor, bullied victim is the perfect way to not only get away with theft. It allows you to get paid for it, too.

Don't worry, Bex. You show me every day.
Hugs

I so deeply wish that this situation hadn't turned out the way it did, but the way you've handled and responded to it all is exemplary. If only @ginafraser would follow in your example, but it's unlikely for that to happen at this point. The only thing we can hope for is for the Steem community to take action against her for her theft and slander.

We love you, Tiny, and will always support you. <3

Thank you so much, Rose. TBH, the support of all of you is pretty much the only thing still keeping me here at this point.

I wish I could hug you in person :) Why do we live so far from each other?!

It's gratifying to know that some of the most influential users on the Steemit plaform share your frustration and disgust with ginafraser's behavior, @tinypaleokitchen, and stepped up to end it. While still leaving her enough rep that she can rethink her approach, they torpedoed her posts to zero so there's no chance she can profit from your work or the drama she created. This proves that the spirit of Steemit is still intact, and while demoralizing things do happen, most of the time there is remedy. :-)

It really is nice to know members of the community will stand up against people like her.

I am so sorry this has happened and has really hurt you. I have to agree she is stealing and it doesn't matter what country you are from stealing is an offence. If you did this in her country you would go to jail. For her to claim ignorance is poppycock. She knows what she is doing. You won't win against this type of person. You can't reason with them. Don't engage any further. Leave it to Steemcleaners to continue to flag her. Mute her so you don't see her comments anymore. It would be a shame to lose someone as talented as you for a person like her. Please stay and let the community support you. HUGS!

Thank you so much for your support. Hugs!

I've barely interacted with you but offer a hug, because my heart is in it. Also will do what I can to reduce the plagiarist's profits from your property.

Thank you so much, Barbie.

It's all so simple. She stole your work and refused to set it right, even when you asked so politely. No amount of flannel she can provide will change those facts.

I've read through her comments and retaliatory posts and I think it's clear there's no way of getting through to her. She will keep insisting she has a right to steal.

Thank you so much for your support, darling.

Thank you so much, Shadows. You're support means a lot to me.

Gah! Keep fighting the good fight, lady! I appreciate your wisdom over at TWB. I like reading your fiction and nonfiction. Everything I've read from you is good stuff and it makes me think.
Also, if you would ever like an authorized translation of your works to Esperanto, I'd be happy to work with you to do that so that most of the coin and credit goes back to you!

Thank you, Yekrats. I appreciate you over at the Block too! I would love to do things like translations to other languages. We should definitely have a talk about that. ;-)

Hugs

I think you did the right thing, and there is no excuse for that kind of behavior. I hope you continue with your work, and do not let toxic people damage your good heart and work. I wish you the best. Regards ;)

Thank you so much for your support.

You did the right thing, and you desere all respect.

As I see around me, in Libya too the culture of "what is considered stealing?" isn't that strong so I can understand the "initial" perspective of the woman you spoke of. (She might have thought: If I spent effort translating then it's justified) But when I knew you talked to her, taught her calmly that what she do is stealing, it's hard to have a sympathy with her side.

Also, any writer knows that Linking to your post is better, easier and more ethical than copy pasting it.

EDIT: Seen some of her posts, it's hard to deal with this kind of people, I rather not having to.

In all honesty plagiarism and copyright infringement is one of my biggest concerns about blockchain. As a newbie it makes me hectic to find so many copy paste and stolen work making money while others struggle to write and share original work. I am relieved though to know about steemcleaners.

It is disturbing but the support of my friends and steemcleaners have made me feel a lot better. It's frustrating that the person in question still had almost 6$ in payout pending on a post that is a copy of her own slander towards me.

I'm not going to let her get the better of me, though. Her words say more about her than they do about me.

Thanks for your comment and support.

Last month one of my musical improvisations shared on youtube and facebook went viral, was shared in countless pages, some with half a million to 1 million views each, some even monetised my video and even cut out my credits. One particular vicious site even asked me for money to license my own video or add my link to it. So fortunately I reported, but here if those things happening I feel unsure. Then I knew about the steemcleaners and found out that the self-regulating system does punish these accounts until they are virtually invisible, so in some ways I felt saver.

You supported me on prior stories I've written, and I'm thankful for that.

Unfortunately, this is a common situation on Steemit. The number of outright scammers that infest this "social" space is beyond any rational imagining.

Its one of the reasons I decided that I'm not writing stories here anymore.

All the supposedly "new" sign-ups being used for vote-botting and reward-pool siphoning, and the blatant abuse of the voting/delegation system tells me that the Steemit-tanic is already sinking.

I'd love to be able to say "You should soldier on, and ignore the problems."

But I can't.

Welcome to the gradual decline of what was a good idea, reduced to a hulking corpse riddled with legions of parasites sucking the reward pool dry through trickery and deceit.

I'm sorry for what happened to you, but its the honest truth.

Thank you for your support. It sucks. That's for sure.

I'd already decided to not post as many stories here but to try and get them published through mainstream avenues.

My blog here will be limited to poetry, art and non-fiction articles.

My resolution to keep fiction off Steemit has only been reinforced by this incident.

I do believe something can be done about abuse like this but it can only happen if we, as a community, stand up together instead of letting steamcleaners and submarine do all the hard work for us.

People must understand what copyright is, what an author rights hold, and that we have the right to DECIDE what is done with our work. Taken into account here it can be removed after 7 days people should be cautious, but people has grown used to think everything is "free" on internet. The other day someone told me that I was giving away my copyright uploading here, and I replied, no way, I'm sharing my work here for you to see, but I'm not signing away any license. Permission is key.
It should not be about the money but sadly in many ways it still is, they're not only sharing without permission, but being rewarded for it. It's confusing. But I'm sure in the future Steemit will find solutions for this. I trust :) and I hope :)

I'm a little more than concerned about people stealing what I write. The past several days, I have started to upload a chapter a day of a novella I wrote. It is for purchase on Amazon and a couple of other ebook sellers. Of course, it has sold no more than a couple of dozen copies. Even so, I decided that I would make it available for free to the steemit community (hopefully getting some feedback on it in the process). After reading about your experience, I wonder if doing so is such a good idea.

I found some of my stuff pirated once. Very, very frustrating. I understand your feelings. What I consoled myself with was the idea that, in the modern internet universe of things, getting content out there often has roundabout benefits, drawing more eyes to your work and delivering peripheral advantages.

This is by no means an effort to say "dont' worry about it," because believe me it still pisses me off, but I figure we always have to look for the positives in everything, and even if what this woman did was unethical (and I fully agree it was unethical), perhaps the audience she reached might have somehow ended up benefiting you.

anyway, those are just the thoughts I had to ease my anger.
