If you have ever experienced a Hurricane then you know how much it can destroy anything. It is not just the fact that the winds can rip everything in its path apart, but the huge amount of rain water that could be collected. When all these things combine into one storm it can take its toll on anyone. But does it mean that you have to just accept this situation and try to cope with the devastation?

Hurricanes are something that everyone wants to avoid, so why do people still find themselves caught up in a Hurricane's wrath? Many think that there is nothing they can do about it but really the answer is far from it. And if you suffer from problems with anger then learning to cope with such storms may be just what you need to help you find yourself again.

The first thing that you should realise is that you have the power to take control of your storm. Of course you might not be able to do this yourself and this is where other forms of therapy will come in. However, there are also other forms of therapies that may help you cope with the storm. These are known as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is quite a simple one, but there are many different techniques that are used in order to identify the negative behaviour and ways that you can change the way you react to situations that might cause you problems in the future. Of course this isn't possible if you have not already attempted to change the way you respond to situations.

Emotional Freedom Technique is a technique that uses exercises that have the purpose of empowering you to regain control of your emotions. There are a number of different emotions that can appear and the aim of the exercises is to gain control over these feelings. This can also help you to calm down after a storm and find the strength to get through the next storm. Obviously it is not always easy to stay away from hurricanes when you have anger management issues. But if you can get through the storm and look after yourself then you will have the best chance of continuing to manage your anger and getting better at controlling it in the future. But don't be tempted to try and fight the storm by storming back into the storm; you won't win.

When it is your turn to go through the Hurricane, realise that it can be much more than just a storm. The emotion can carry on to cause some devastation and it is important that you try to control your storm rather than trying to get out of it.

So if you are looking for a way to help yourself cope with hurricanes then you will need to take control of your storm and learn to cope with it rather than trying to fight it. But if you are already coping with hurricanes, then you will need to understand what needs to be done to help yourself change the way you deal with them in the future.
