Today I learned, that Eve Online is now free-to-play.
I was looking for new games to try my GPU and during my research, I found out that since this November you can join and play Eve Online for free.
I always wanted to try it, but I didn't want to commit to monthly payments.
I made an account and created a character called Felixxx Steem.
The interface is a bit overwhelming and I started the tutorial.
I don't really know what to expect - I heard good things about this game.
Let's see how it goes ...
I will blog about it ;)
I found a referal link.
If you want to play too, you can use this to sign up - it will give me some skillpoints:

Hope to meet you in the Eve Universe.
Please don't shoot me ! - I'm a noob :D
My brother worked for ccp as a concept artist and designed some of the background in eve online. Here he shows some of his work: http://cargocollective.com/ramoncontini/filter/Eve-Online

Hey, I've just been imagining and looking around a bit to create an online game connected to steem and steemit. With a more decentralized view on its ecosystem than what current companies are doing. Mainly where the players are more in favor of it thanks to microtransactions, proof-of-play etc.
They are just ideas right now but would be awesome to find like-minded individuals who would want to create something like that and documenting the process on the platform and keeping it open-source while being funded for the platform for the necessary costs.
Thanks for the email, I'll keep him in mind :)

Sounds interesting. I like games that require both strategy and intellect, but which also have an element of chance. Once you start defining the rules of yr game, let me know. I have been thinking about a metagame, in which the players have to build a game with a limited set of allowable building blocks and rules. The games are then played by a group of users within a given time frame and linked to the same type of cryptocurrency like in steemit. the game with which the highest rewards are scored wins. It is like screening for the most succesful heuristic.
