I'm an acupuncturist and recently treated a patient for RLS with magnesium oil - the spray on kind, not the thick stuff. However, if kidney function is compromised, then magnesium oil is contraindicated. As you mentioned in your article, diet is a very important component.

Diet can change many things like high blood pressure and diabetes.

I sometimes experience this at night. I find that it occurs when I am dehydrated and simply drinking enough water throughout the night sorts it out.
