I know one of the reasons why I got your attention. Because you are just like me. That means, you lack time and you want more of it. Wishing to have a few extra hours every day to do the things we want.
Can you imagine how good our lives would be if we can buy time to do the things we want? More time for leisure, hobbies, and recreation. Also, time for productivity and other important stuff. Our lives will be a lot better, right?
Unfortunately, we cannot really buy time. But, I can show you a way to trade your money and get more time for yourself. How’s that possible? Because you can spend your money on something that will give you extra time for yourself.
I’m talking about spending time on services.
Services that do the things you hate so you can do what you love. Read books, play video games, or spend quality time with your family. Things more important than money and are worth trading your cash for.
You can gain 2-3 hours of extra time per week if you spend money on laundry shops. I spent around $3 for the laundry that will take me 2 hours to do. That means I spent $3 for an extra 2 hours of time.
You can gain 1-2 hours of extra time per day if you buy cooked food instead of cooking yourself. Buying cooked food adds $2-$3 per day of spending but saves me 1-2 hours.
You can gain 2-4 hours of extra time every week on delivery services instead of picking things yourself.
Imagine how many hours you will have if you add those up! You’ll get up to hundreds of hours a month. Up to thousands of hours a year! That is up to more than a month of time saved per year!
What are the things you want to do if given an extra month in a year? Do you think you can enjoy the things you want if you trade your money for time? Can you imagine how many books you read, how many video games you played, and how many improvements you added to your life?
But, I rather save money to buy more material stuff than have more time, you asked. If you are asking that question, then you are not aware that time is your most important commodity. You also don’t know that spending on services will contribute more to your happiness.
According to research, people are happy buying services. Study shows spending money on time-saving services such as a house cleaner, grocery delivery, and lawn care makes people feel happier. Spending money on material things, on the other hand, does not boost positive emotions like what we expect.
Also, by spending money on services, you help create more jobs. That is good for the economy. A win-win situation for everybody.
Now that you have an idea on how to improve your life and make yourself happy, will you start trading some of your money for a significant amount of time? Or will you still make yourself stuck in the things you keep on doing that doesn’t make your life better? Still willing to gain stress on doing things you don’t like rather than make others do it for you?
Just a reminder, time is your most precious asset.
