Tom Brady Vs. Peyton Manning Debate

Tom Brady is the better overall player and the better career than Peyton Manning. Tom Brady is a future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback who has played for the New England Patriots for the past 19 seasons. While Peyton Manning is a recently retired, future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback who has played 18 seasons for the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. Both are consensus top 5 quarterbacks of all time but Tom Brady has done it in a more impressive way. There is defiantly a argument for Peyton Manning though. You can say that he spent the last quarter of his career injured and limping through those years considering he had a serious neck surgery done. If you look at it though, the years AFTER the surgery, Manning had arguably his best seasons. If you look at Manning's 2013 season in which he was 2 years removed from the surgery, he only threw for the most touchdowns in a single season (56) and the most passing yards in a single season (5,477) while throwing his way to his 5th league MVP award. Peyton is also the all time leader in NFL history for both passing yards (71,940) and passing touchdowns (539). Peyton Manning has also won 2 Super Bowls in 4 opportunities. Now for my pick Tom Brady. Tom Brady is considered by many to be a heated figure because he is seen as a cheater. But you can't deny how good Brady has been. Brady is 3rd all time in both all time wins and all time passing yards. There is also no coincidence that the patriots have had a winning record for 17 consecutive seasons, making the playoffs in 15 of those seasons. Tom Brady has also won 5 Super Bowls out of a total 8 appearances. When it comes to the playoffs, Brady dominates just about every individual category. Brady is the all time leader in passing yards, completions, touchdown passes, wins, Super Bowl appearances, Super Bowl wins, Super Bowl MVP's, Super Bowl completions, Super Bowl passing yards, and Super Bowl Passing touchdowns. Brady is just the better quarterback. Peyton might have the better stats but over his career he has had the better weapons. Peyton has been able to throw to people such as Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Edgerrin James, Demaryius Thomas, and Emmanual Sanders. While Brady has also had some great weapons such as Randy Moss, Deion Branch, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman. With the exception of Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski, Brandin Cooks, I believe that Brady made the rest of them great weapons. For example if you look at Wes Welker he wasn't very successful with them Miami Dolphins then he came to the Patriots and became the greatest slot receiver in the NFL at the time. Then Welker went to Denver and played with Peyton Manning and he suddenly disappeared again. I don't think there is much of a coincidence there. Brady also has 3 more Super Bowls with is the most important statistic when it comes to the NFL. This is why Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning. But that is not saying Peyton Manning isn't great, he is also one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time hands down. But Brady has also been on record of saying that he wants to play 5 more years. So his numbers/stats are only going to get greater. Imagine if Brady just has 5 average seasons he would more than likely pass Manning in all of those all time passing categories. But knowing Brady those seasons are going to be anything but average.
