Why? Twitter does not allow you to create a Twitter account with the Tor browser. And of course you can't open a Facebook or Google account with it if you do not intent to validate your mobile phone number.
Now it becomes even worse. Since about a couple of weeks it started you couldn't FAV any tweets anymore. Then, after FAVs with the Tor browser are not accepted you can't today (March 10, 2017) not even make a retweet anymore.
As far as I could circle the problem the cause is in any configuration setting of the Tor browser - it's not in the Tor network itself. As a temporary workaround you could start your Tor Browser and use your regular Browser in private mode and configure it to use a SOCKS 5 proxy through localhost port 9150 that's available after you started the Tor browser. Since hard core security extremists would not recommend this I think it should be save enough if you don't had a better alternative.
It's not about TOR becoming useless. It's just that there's people (Governments) fighting against it.

That's what I've written :-) And you name it, the people (govs) are fighting against anonymity
