The Great American Eclipse - A Different Perspective

I am late to the game here I guess, because the world often moves much faster than I am able.

Nevertheless, this post is lovingly made to share my thoughts, photos and a special offer- all inspired by the total solar eclipse I experienced from my back yard in the path of totality here in western Oregon, in the company of family.

You will see no images of the actual solar eclipse but you will see some interesting pictures and read inspired words. I briefly tried to capture a suitable photo in that fleeting moment but quickly abandoned the effort, preferring to capture that magnificent sight of totality for ever in my DNA. Besides, no camera can do it the justice it deserves.

To those of us who were fortunate enough to behold the sight of the solar eclipse in its totality I say: Let us not soon forget the magic of this event. I am recording some images and posting some thoughts to the blockchain where they will stay preserved forever.

Our expectations were surpassed here in Oregon as well. It was strange how dark and cool it got during totality. And no camera can do it justice. When I took off my glasses during totality my mind was blown at the sight I beheld. My two Oregon brothers and their families were here at our house in the path of totality. It was an experience of a lifetime. Glad you got to enjoy it as well.

Above you see the resulting effect of the 'domed' crescent sunbeams that snuck through the branches and leaves during the first half of the eclipse. They make a lovely patio decoration, if I do say so myself.

The tent and grass also made a lovely canvas for these dome-shaped beams of penetrant light. Nature's rarest form of camouflage?

The beauty of surrounding roses magnifies the effect of these large domes. It was a sight to see the shadows and sunbeams move with the breeze as it gently swayed the neighboring trees. Please view the video I posted on DTube of this beautiful sight to behold.

Here the eclipse was aproaching totality and the crecent domes of sunlight are much more fine. God must have been tapping his fingers in delight and these are the divine prints left on this terrestrial sphere for mortals to contemplate, if only for a brief moment.

This jet, seemingly inspired by the celestial event, abruptly changes course, leaving behind its crescent plume of dispersing white gasses.

After totality the rays of sunshine were bent to form a 'cupped' shape. Talk about having your world flipped upside down!

Dozens of cup-shaped beams on the tent. The sun catches the moon's elixir and pours it out into the dreams of campers who are unsure on which side of the nocturnal veil they reside.

Oh, but the dream has only just begun, for the eclipse-berries are ripe to perfection and what better time to harvest this mystical fruit than during a solar eclipse!
