Take a tour of the caves of marengo in Indiana

Our trip to the caves starts in a smaller entrance that has been fitted with a lock for tours only.As we decend into the caves,You notice the floors have been resurfaced and it gets darker with each step.We come to our first marvel a water cut run off that leads the whole cave almost.I loved seeing these mineral formations everywhere the shot I made I hope is good enough for you guys.Here is a few close ups of a few formations for your enjoyment.These tall formations help hold the ceilings up it looks like when they connect the floor to the ceiling.As you venture further into the caves you see the man made paths.Followed by some cups that the cave took over which is Unique and very interesting.They say the old cave explorers left the cups to gather mineral water for drinking between explorations.As we venture further you can see where the cave gave great room for parties and church gatherings.when you look up you see pennies everywhere. The ceiling was like mud so ppl threw pennies up and later those pennies where pulled down during the renovation and givin to charity Really cool I think! Here is the band area. Now comes the church area.After seeing this area the next room was enormouse.Were now leaving the church area headed into more of the cave towards the exit we took these pictures.Apon exiting we see a small pool of water and the reflection is nothing to what you can see in real life.As we exit this room the sight was spactacular leading into the ice caves. The memorial for the kids that found this cave.Thanks marengo we will be back to see the rest next year.
