Zeus,Poseidon ve Hades'in yaptığı kurada yer altının ve ölülerin tanrısı olma görevini seçmiştir. Hades artık ölüler ülkesinin en büyük ve tek tanrısıdır. Yer altının tüm hazineleri Hades'in olduğu için Romalılar onun adını varlıklı yani Plüton olarak bilmektedirler.
