I have no interest in profiting from trading, even if Potcoin were to rise 1000+ that wouldn't make me enough to buy a cup of coffee. While I do have a couple of cents invested, we are talking about an investment out of principle and not financial gain.
Over the last week or so the numbers for this currency, which deals with the legal marijuana industry, have changed drastically to the benefit of those involved with it. I have noticed that many people don't seem to understand why this technology has gathered this much attention, despite having released a few nice features recently, because they don't see anything particularly innovative about the coin.
For what I understand this is just a clone, there is no much in the way of original code, so it's no surprise people want to know what sets this technology apart from others. Today I wish to give my opinion about what makes Potcoin different than any other crypto.
There's nothing special about Potcoin, people like it because it's pragmatic.
Potcoin doesn't play around, it's simple, straight forward. If you ask any holder what the currency does, they will explain to you that banks are giving medical marijuana shops a hard time, sometimes won't accept their business at all, and being that this is a dangerous situation to be in, there is a need to bank those companies and Potcoin solves that problem.
It is no mystery to anyone that there indeed is a problem with banks and the legal marijuana industry, a simple Google search will stir you in that direction. Potcoin gives people a chance not only to recognize this is an issue, but it also gives the investor a chance to do something about it.
Potcoin is just marketing, and there's nothing wrong with that.
What you need to understand is that when people invest they want to know what they are investing in, they want to know the impact their investment may have, but most people don't want complex ideas about what this tech may do for us socially thrown at them. Most people don't want to talk about war, they just want it to end. They want action, they want solutions, they want to make sure their efforts will see reward. This currency does just that in the way it presents itself, simple enough for others to understand and join the promise of one of the fastest growing industries.
I totally agree with your conclusion. "Potcoin is a reminder that adoption relies on understanding and the value of this tech, as with most other things, grows from belief." Unless/until regular people can understand how something positively impacts them they are unlikely to care or be willing to experiment with something new. It's up to those who can communicate the value to effectively spread Potcoin adoption.

This is an old post! Previously we were only able to comment within the first month but it seems like that has changed. I'm leaving this here for proof and I'm off to experiment with others.
