Spot gold prices rose 0.1 percent to $ 1,231.81 per troy ounce, after briefly touching a high of # 1,239.68. in the previous session. Meanwhile, the price of gold futures for December delivery fell to $ 1,234.7 per ounce on the Comex in New York. Strengthening of the gold price is also seen on the XAU / USD chart below, which indicates a rise to $ 1,230.62.
