My visit to Crich Tramway Museum, Derbyshire, UK

in transport •  6 years ago

I recently visited Crich Tramway Museum which is quite local to me. I haven't been there since I was a child.

After I'd paid the entrance fee I was given an old penny. I then had to give this to the conductor when I took a ride on the trams. Children are given a halfpenny. The ticket you are given enables you to have unlimited rides all day. The tram journey is about a mile long. All good fun!

I then went and had a look around the museum itself where you can see horse, electric and steam trams.

Spotted an old fashioned police telephone box. Reminds me of Dr Who!

They have recreated a period looking village street with old fashioned shops, pubs and products what was sold during the second world war.

Tinned eggs!

There is also a woodland and sculpture trail and picnic area. There's something for everyone and one of the trams is accessible to disabled people. An interesting day out.
