I retyped my gender in 2012 and nobody (except the police I guess) is allowed to read my old record without my approval. So at least officially nobody can look up my gender on birth. However the following questions are put:

Q: Which toilet do you use in public?
A: I'm a man so I use the Gents.

Q: Are you allowed to get married?
A: I'm a man so yes I do. Nobody's checking if you really have a penis in church. (Nevertheless fortunately marriage is finally allowed for all in Germany \o/).

Q: So you're gay?
A: I'm a man and I love women, so no, I'm not gay.

Just because I haven't got a penis (yet), doesn't mean I'm not a man.
A woman who lost her breast to cancer is still a women.
