I was due to go to Mount Aconcagua in December 2017 for a second attempt when I was forced to cancel due to performance issues caused by a vascular condition I have (external iliac artery endofibrosis).
With renewed hope of fixing my arteries, it looks like Mount Aconcagoa 2018 can still happen.
This time around we will approach it differently - opting for a private expedition that will provide the flexibility we require and an opportunity to apply some of the learning from the previous expedition. Of course will miss out on the large team camaraderie and networking opportunities - but this boils down to purely weighing the cost and benefit.
Mt Aconcagua is one of the 7 summits and is the highest in South America (6962 m).
