The Harmony between Humans and Nature in Estes Park, Colorado, USA

Some time ago He traveled to the US on a Work & Travel program. Being from Bulgaria, a small country in Eastern Europe, with wondrous nature(will show in future posts) , he believed that he won't be surprised. He was wrong!

Situated in the state of Colorado, near one of the entrances to the Rocky Mountain National Park, the tourist town of Estes Park proved to be an unexpected surprise.

To His awe, the entire area was full with roaming elk, which is one of the largest species of deer. The shocking part was that the animals accepted the humans as part of their surroundings and were not scarred at all. Having in mind that deer are hunted on a global scale, this experience was amazing.

Combined with the beauty of the nature itself, the Work & Travel program turned out to calm the spirit instead of the opposite. The following is a photo from Bear Lake.

It was amazing how the place was full of people and yet you don't feel suffocated but rather at ease. In a sense the scenes are able to clear your head and mind.

This is lake Estes which is situated at the center of the town. On the 4th of July, a huge celebration is carried out with fireworks launched from the middle of the lake. Breathtaking.

One funny story we can share is during a night while we were gathered in front of our houses which were not in the town but in one of the near forests. We noticed that a small baby bear cub was trying to pick apart a trash bin. It was extremely cute and most of us went close to it. Unfortunately, a roar smashed the darkness as mama bear noticed her baby was missing and you could see how 20 people or so ware running scarred for their houses. We were full with fear then but laughed it off during the next day.
