My Favorite Islands (in the Philippines), Part 1

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

While it is known that the Philippines is made up of 7,107 islands, there are only a few of those islands known internationally. And as a Filipina from down under (Mindanao), there are a lot of islands unknown to the people of the world that can highly compete the most famous Boracay Island (which will be closed for rehabilitation for 6 mos). So for those who wants to travel while Boracay is unavailable, here are some of my favorite islands. Which I have visited personally.

Camiguin Island (Mindanao)

White Island in Camiguin is my favorite, I've been there three times and the feeling is still the same. Mantigue island is also a place you'd like to visit when you're there. As well as cold springs, hot spring, and a waterfalls.

Lakawon Island, Negros Occidental

It's a long ride from Bacolod, Negros Occidental but it's such a beautiful place to be in. They have a floating restaurant that we weren't able to ride due to lack of time but if you do visit, go ahead and give it a try! The same with Camiguin, Bacolod has a lot of nature-hopping experience to offer. Lakawon Island is just one of the options.
