The Twin Giants Watch Over Passengers At Bangkok Airport

in travel •  8 years ago

As you enter the main terminal building of Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, you will be greeted by the huge statues of the giants "Tosagirithorn" & "Tosagirivan". These giants can be seen in many temples around Thailand as they are guardians, who chase away the evil spirits.

THE GIANTS - "Tosagirithorn" & "Tosagirivan"

Each has a detailed story and characteristics, many of which are related to the classic epic tale of the Ramayana. I find it comforting to think that they are watching over me as I fly.

Interesting stories to share.. 😊

Why don't you tell us the story of Tosagirithorn & Tosagirivan . I've never heard it and I'm sure it would be an interesting read.

I'm currently at the airport and about to check in, but will try to write that one up soon. Thanks for your kind comment :)

I'd gladly pay more to land and depart at Suvarnabhumi than Don Mueng.
