The valley of Caracas, Venezuela

in travel •  6 years ago

This picture was taken from the south East of the City in an area called Los Naranjos facing North towards the Avila mountain.  Clear blue skies over this imposing facade which rises up to 2765 meters above sea level. In the city you can see three different areas or urbanizaciones as we call them: Cerro Verde to the left, El Cafetal in the center and Lomas del Sol to the right. Behind the mountain about a 45 minutes ride (not counting the really heavy traffic you can face in Caracas) you'l get to the coast of the Caribbean sea, kilometers of clear, warm beaches.
