The terrain is getting more and more swampy everyday now and the mosquitos and black flies are becoming a problem. I have been bitten by so many of these vampiric insects that I have welps on nearly every part of my body.
I came across an observation tower near the border of New Jersey and New York and I wondered if the bugs would fly up there to attack me during the night when I wanted to get some sleep. I really didn't think that they would.... I was right, I spent the night with a cool breeze and not a single blood drinking fly.
The view was spectacular on each side of the large structure and as soon as the sun was down the wind brought the softest and coolest breeze that put me to sleep under the stars and a bright moon.
I watched the sun set behind the mountains of New York and was awake in time to see it rise from the New Jersey side of the hills. Me and Rain Drop Hound Dog didn't have a care in the world that evening as well as the beautiful morning we opened our eyes to.
This monument is on the very top of the High Point Mountain, which is the highest elevation in the state of New Jersey.
Rain Drop enjoyed it as much as I did. We where also joined by my friend Farmer before the day was done and we all cowboy camped with the stars and moonlight putting us to rest after we got really stoned.
Such a wonderful evening!
We were back on the trail bright and early that next morning and clicking our heels until the hot summer sun exposed it's power in all it's might.
