Yesterday I used dlike to share an article I read about how in some areas the extremely dry weather has unveiled ancient marks on the ground... It was a very interesting article about human activity fort building and agriculture - I hope you get the chance to read it. The article jotted my mind about some of the (many wonderful) things I saw from the plane on my way back from South America, December time, a couple of years ago.

To be honest I am not entirely sure where we were at the time possibly on route to cross the Andes, but I might be slightly off course as my geography often fails me.

interesting to see the mix of older farms in terraced fields and the large circles of center pivot irrigation. much of the midwest in the US is covered with the big circles of center pivot irrigation systems.

Oh I see that's what they are @steven-patrick. Many thanks ! Around here it's only sheep farming and dairy farms mainly. Any cultivation has got to make use of poly tunnels because of the short season and rain...
