in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello fellow steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 150 SBD! Today you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to a continent of Australia. I am also adding a New Zealand to the same challenge as there were some concerns from other steemians to which continent will NZ go to.

Your entries need to be submitted by the midnight of Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only one picture to be submitted for a daily photo challenge. The rule number one is to use only personal images. Ten winning photos will receive an upvote from me from which I will pick one winner that will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts.

The winner of daily challenge then competes against winners from other continental challenges of the respective week to receive the price of 15 SBD. That will be decided by you based on the dollar value of upvotes of my winning post announcement. The winning weekly picture then automatically enters other rounds for the price of 150 SBD in total.

Please see the Asian Sunday winner and give him support by upvoting his winner announcement post if you like his image to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge:

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #11 - winner announcement!

@vinceboisgard Asian Sunday entry:

This is a view from Kawah Ijen, a volcano located near Banyuwangi in Indonesia. After I climbed to the top and went down into the crater during the night. This was the view I had on my way down as the sun had just rised. Sulfur smokes and fog, other volcanoes and dead trees still standing on the edge of the volcano.

How would you describe Australia? For me, this photo describes it perfectly . Beautiful beaches, kangaroos and amazing sunset. Just look at that view. Can a man ask for more :)

Since I've never personally been to Australia, I'd like to show my support and vote for this awesome picture

Thank you, If you want to see more my photos, please check my blog😊

Stunning entry for Australian Challenge today!

The Great Ocean Road is one of the top 5 places to visite in Autralia and it really is not hard to see why. :) These are two of the Twelve Apostles, soft limestone pillars formed by erosion from the Southern Ocean. They are called the 12 Apostles but there were never 12 only 9 at the beginning and since one collapsed in 2005 only 8 remain.

Great pic! However, if you like it to be considered for the challenge you need to adjust your entry to a minimum of 30 to 50 words to comply with the rules. Thank you for your understanding. Hope you can get that done since this truly is an amazing image! Tomas

Fixed it thanks for letting me know and for this great photo challenge.

Great, thank you so much! Tomas

I'll apply with a favourite of mine.

Three Sisters, Blue Mountains, Australia
It's not the most exotic place in Australia but the first time I ever went there I was so struck by the seemingly endless panorama I was literally speechless for minutes. Simply in awe.
Not sure if the colors messed with my depth perception or if it was my first time seeing a place with absolutely no human hand but I was lost in the grandeur of those magical mountains.
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do whenever I take a deep breath and look at this picture.

Thank you so much for your participation. Stay tuned for the winner announcement coming shortly. Tomas

Uluru

Uluru is one of the biggest symbols of Australia. My first destination when arriving there. It's one thing to hear about it, it's another to see the dawn rise on this monument. I will never forget the few days spent at this place.

This truly is the symbol of Australia. Great pic!

Aoraki/Mt Cook in the distance
The snowy peak of Mt Cook, Aoraki in Maori, is the highest peak of New Zealand with 3724m. The top was first climbed in 1894.
We stopped in several locations to catch a view of this incredible mountain. I tried to take some images with the peaks reflection in the water but it was always to windy.

Beautiful pic! Thank you so much for your participation.

Cronulla Beach, Sydney, Australia.

After my New Zealand trip, I had few days to explore Sydney and its beautiful beaches. Despite the beauty, there were a lot of warning signs of blue ring octopuses that lurk around these holes in the rocks, so you have to be super careful.

Thank you so much for your entry!

The Sydney Opera House viewed from the harbour bridge just before the sun rises over the city. This is a masterpiece of architecture right at the end of "the rocks" with in the background the skyline of the city slowly waking up... Location: Sydney.

Great capture! Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas

My pleasure and thank you for the compliment 😀

Sunset at Blue Mountains National Park
Here is the first national park we went to on my second road trip with my sister. You can see the top part of Blue Mountain just getting kissed by the sun. We didn't have time to explore the whole national park but it was enough to enjoy its beauty.

What a view! Great picture for today challenge. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement. Tomas
