Trek with a Cat in Rila Mountain, Bulgaria

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

"In the mountains there aren't bad people", someone once told me, and I absolutely believe in this. Whether it is because I believe in it, and that creates vibrational mismatch between me and the bad people in the mountains, I don't know. But although I've hiked alone a lot in the most obscure mountain places, sometimes without meeting anyone for the whole day, fortunately I've never had any problems with people or animals. Actually it is exactly the opposite. I had only amazing experiences (Thank you, Universe). One time a stranger even offered me his shoes in a thunderstorm, because I was barefoot, and he was worried about me. That was so nice, I was really touched, even though I was ok and didn't need shoes :). I have a lot of stories like this one, but today my story is about a cat. I learned that there aren't bad cats in the mountains also :D

The most sweet, loving, cute , caressing cat, that I've ever met. Maybe it is because of the mountain air :). We began our trek from Kirilova Polyana in Rila mountain and from there after an hour of walking we reached Ribni ezera Hut. It was a cold foggy day, during the week, and there wasn't anyone in the hut. I think that the keeper of the hut comes only during the weekends. So we didn't find the keeper, but we found a sweet trekking friend, who joined us and walked with us for hours.

I wish I could take her with me, but who would prefer living in a box, if the whole Rila mountain is your home. She wouldn't be happy :).

So cute

So cute! Do you think it's a wild cat? Do these even exist? :D Maybe it belongs to a hut or something.

Hey, thank you! I think that wild cats exist but they are wild :D they wouldn’t come to the people, this was definitely the hut’s cat :)

Nice photos. You took your cat on the mountain.

Nope, I found a cat in the mountain :)
