So, Let Me Tell You About My Trip
To Gatlinburg, Tennessee
The family drove to Gatlinburg, TN to check off a bucket list item, which was to stay in a log cabin in the Smoky Mountains. We stayed at a wonderful place called Legacy Mountain Resort. http://www.legacymountainresort.com/ This is me walking my dog there.
It was only for a couple of days, and my mother and brother met us there and stayed with us. The first day it snowed nonstop, and so we did a lot of indoor things like the Ripley's Aquarium that I posted pictures of prior to this blog.
The second day was much nicer and we all ziplined for the first time. https://smokymountains.com/sevierville/things-to-do/legacy-mountain-ziplines/
This was exhilarating and a lot of fun. Our guides Dan, and especially Joe, did a wonderful job. We zipped around at speeds anywhere between 25 to 40 miles per hour. Not only was it a little scary, but the scenery was so beautiful that it made you not mind that you were thousands of feet up being held by a single cord as you zoom over the forrest.
We then went horseback riding, again all of us for the first time. We went slow, but for about two and a half miles. My horse's name was Colt, and he was pure black. Everyone else had brown horses. Colt started out ticked off. He was spitting all over the place while we were waiting to begin, and one of the ladies who runs the place had to yell at him. Then, as we rode, he would get distracted and either try to eat some grass, or say hi to another horse in the stable. I had to pull him away a few times, and he would stretch his neck and jaw out as if to defiantly say, "Stop telling me where to go. I got this."
I referred to this as the 'Bucket List' vacation. It was a great trip, and it was nice to spend time with family. I highly recommend going here. There are more pancake establishments and Dolly Parton places than you can shake a stick at. The people are nice and the moonshine is delicious. I will post more as the pictures come in.
