Bangkok. An unmarked cart on Surawong Rd. selling grilled pork belly skewers basted in honey and red chilis for 30 cents each. This is seared into my mind as the best street food experience of my life.

I also enjoy street food. I recently enjoyed some tacos on a random street in Mexico City in the middle of the night that were, simply, as amazing as they were mysterious.

But here's a random question: Do you ever feel awkward taking these pictures? Do you feel like it not only makes you a tourist, but a bit of a voyeur who also isn't living in the moment. Cuz I feel that way. So usually, I don't take pictures of stuff like this.

Just point to the smartphone and smile. In Thailand everyone nodded when I asked. Fun fact: random Thais would stop me on the street for a selfie with me. I was bewildered for weeks as to why and then found out it was because I am a six foot six ethnically Chinese guy. I guess they do not see a lot of my type around.
