If you have not experienced road traffic trauma, it simply means that you have not been to Nigeria.

Traveling within Nigeria is always a horrible experience more especially during the festive period ( more severe in Christmas season). Though, not every part of Nigeria that this road traffic quagmire is rampant, but there are some places you can barely dreamt of traveling to, both during the festive period and non-festive period, South-easth to south-west to be precise.

For the fact that I Love travelling, is not in this case. When it comes to travelling from Southeast to southwest part of Nigeria, the enthusiasm of travelling always disappear because I knew that is not gonna be an easy experience.

As you can see in this picture, here is OVIA road, just some miles away from Benin tall gate, that's in Edo state. Our bus stocked up here yesterday for about 4hrs, after which we were unable to penetrate the road, and our bus had to reverse back to Benin town to en-route Ovbazua road, a very old and busy road. It was a horrible experience, I spent maximum of 12 hrs on the road before I could get to Ore(Outskirt of Ondo State) yesterday.

It was a heavy nightmare, a times I wonderful what our FRSC (Federal Road Safety Commission) agency are doing, how could someone possibly spent up to 12-14 hrs on a journey that ought to be 5hrs all in the name of road traffic, when we have agencies that could have prevented it.

It is quite unfortunate, and it is too bad that the citizens of this great Nation had to go through this unbearable stress before they could get their various destinations this Christmas.

I sincere want to use this post to appeal to our government and all concerned agencies to come to our aid, this horrible traffic issue is not funny, more especially now that many people are travelling to their various homes to celebrate the Christmas with their loved ones.
