The heart of Beyoglu where is a district of Istanbul. Istiklal Street has given soul to Beyoglu district and it has been the most important promenade in this district. This street is the most cosmopolitan street in Istanbul throughout the history. The development of Istanbul was always parallel to the development of Beyoglu Street.
The street had an earthy ground in the 18th century. A lot of foreign people has started living this street. So Istiklal Street has begun to develop. Name of this street was "Cadde-i Kebir" in time of Ottoman Empire and foreign people who are living here had said to here is "Grande Rue". Meaning of both names are same that is "Big Street". In Istiklal Street, There are many cafes, restaurants, courses, entertainment now.
So much tourists travel to this street every year. I found some photographs about History of Istiklal Street. And new photographs of It.
