You will find Max Eyth Vineyards in Stuttgart. Stuttgart is Germany's greenest metropolis – surrounded by gently rolling hills, woodlands, orchards, and vineyards that continue into the heart of town. We happen to be in Stuttgart and i am a fan of wines and we were told the best grapes farms exist along this strip of man made lake so we could not miss this opportunity.
Stuttgart is the capital of the state of Baden Württemberg in southern Germany. The sixth largest city in Germany. Stuttgart is spread across a variety of hills, valleys and parks unusual for a German city and often a source of surprise to visitors who primarily associate the city with its industrial reputation as the cradle of the automobile. We found it very peaceful and friendly indeed. Very calm sort of a place with a lot of beautiful nature surrounding the city more like a urban country town.
Stuttgart is located in a valley surrounded by vineyards. For those who like walking, a popular day trip is to walk through the vineyards towards Esslingen. We enjoyed just walking along the path ways along side the Lake Max Eyth is a great place to relax and enjoy some quite hours and at the time we were there unfortunately the snow was just about gone but it still had that refreshing ice cool air in the clouds.
They say the Max Eyth Lake on the summer weekends the meadows around it are packed with families having barbecues and relaxing in the sun and the lake itself is filled with little sail boats and pedal boats. Would of been nice to see but on our visit it was still a little cool for that.
The Vineyards were just getting on the way with the baby vines starting to make there ways up the poles in no time it would be a green valley again.
If you love bike riding i would recommend it as it offers you several cycling lanes which go along the river and the lake this way you will see more of the surrounding lakes beauty and you can ride up by the small town for a nice warm coffee.
We didn't get to eat any grapes but we got this beautiful Stuttgart sunset to stay in our memories of this lovely city.
And after spending a beautiful night in the town of Stuttgart it was time for us to head back to the city and board a plane to over next destination Italy. This was the the view looking back down the road towards that beautiful city we just left behind ...Till next time Stuttgart.
