3 Reasons why first times are best!

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

How did you feel the first time you heard your boyfriend/girlfriend said, I love you? Wasn't that the best feeling? (achichi!) LOL. How about the first time you took the ferries wheel? wooohhooo! How about this, the first time someone broke your heart? (ugghh! I know this is off topic) hahaha!

Today I won't talk about heart breaks!

Instead, i'll talk about the first time I traveled and took a plane to the most glorious island of Palawan!

This is the first time I saw a real airplane! It was so LARGE! I was in awe! And I'm getting in it! OMG! Look at that smile! HAHAHA. (i feel like a child getting a piece of candy)

Can you guess where this is?

So here are the reasons why first times are always best!

1. IT'S DAUNTING!
Girls, we all experience this, haven't we? You always have these questions the night before your flight like, "Do I really look good in pictures when I wear this bikini?" "Should I bring some cover ups, just in case?" LOL. or "Will I meet some macho guys there in the beach?" HAHAHA! (I wonder how guys are daunted though)
You get this feeling of over-excitement that you can't sleep at night looking at the ceiling, thinking of the things you can do for the first time in an island and decide to be just at your best.

obviously I didn't wear my bikini because I don't have one or shall I say I don't have the guts to wear one (kumusta ang mga tiyan nato diha?) HAHAHAH. please don't judge, I just had lunch LOL.

2. IT'S CHALLENGING!
Most of the time, we just want to stay in our comfort zones. Everything that we plan to do in the next few days, months, years, are pretty intimidating that we sometimes postpone doing it because we are too afraid to try something new to us.

So I decided to try Palawan's famous delicacy called tamilok!

Tamilok is the vernacular term for woodworms, which are found inside the trunks of rotting or fallen mangroves. The sight of these slimy, gray worms might not be quite appetizing, but they taste like oysters and best served in kinilaw. source: http://www.wattalyf.com/wood-worm-benefits/

Who wouldn't wanna try this, anyone? :) You should try it! I swear it's really good.

Of course I didn't eat one these. LOL
first time I saw live crocodiles - I used to hate them but yeah, I should give it a chance

3. IT'S HAUNTING!
After all the sleepless nights thinking about your first-time-ever trip, it's just so hard to forget about it. You'll have a hang-over thinking about how that woodworm settled in your stomach. Was it digested or something? Will it crawl back out from your mouth? or would it just stay there to be my pet forever? HAHAHA. kidding!

How can you just forget all these heavenly food? T_T

How can you forget all the good memories, the people you made friends with, the locals, everything that reminded you how beautiful life is in an island far from home? :)
