01: Lake Vembanad

The most significant lake in India, Lake Vembanad requires an alert photographer. They often have fishing boats sailing through their calm waters. Spend a night aboard the ship, because at night you see thousands of stars lighting the lake water.

02: Kuttanad rice fields

The rice fields of Cotanad are another strange attraction in Alibi. Away from the noise of the city, these areas offer an exciting view of life and customs of the locals. Visit the fields during the monsoons, to see the madness of the activities at the time of cultivation.

03: Birdwatching in Alleppey

Bird watchers will have a concert moment on the east coast of Lake Vembanad, also known as the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Thousands of migratory birds are flocking to these Ramsar wetlands, attracting birdwatchers from around the world. Sunset In the early morning you often see colonies of birds heading towards the water: a surreal view.

04: Alleppey Beach

One of the busiest beaches in Kerala, Alibi Beach, looks more like a poet's whim. The observation point is perfect for sunset; it is a break from the city views that exist densely populated throughout the day. These decaying remains of the Centennial Bridge make them more troubling, pointing to the rich past of Elby and its importance as a vital seaport.

05: St. Mary’s Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church

Alibi includes one of the oldest churches in India, Furan Siro-Malabar Catholic Church of Santa Maria. Visiting this temple is more like turning the pages of an old history book, every corner and every crack that tells its own story. Must see for history buffs.

06: Alleppey Backwaters

The backwater of Alibi creates a surreal scene so that it looks like a colored cloth with a wet, shiny layer: a touch that can be a stain. Rima with the locals and life experience seems to do exaggerated. The glorious sunset is, of course, complimentary.

07: Nehru Trophy Boat Race

One of the frequent anticipated events of the year, the Nehru Cup boat race is another excellent reason to visit Alibi. It is held on every second Sunday of August each year, a significant action drama unfolding with an alarm siren going on, followed by falls of boats, mostly snakes, rowing by keen participants. This breed lives often hailed as the most photographed of all races in Kerala.

Wonderful photographs. I also went down south last year but couldn't go to Alleppey. Your photographs inspire me to visit this beautiful place again..
