Next part of my journey in Ocho Rios is about - Irie Blue Hole. Blue Hole is a gorgeous spot with scenic tropical waterfalls and multiple swimming holes. This place is hidden up in the mountains and it's not overrun with tourists as it's not an official Jamaican Tourist Board attraction, which makes this so much more special.
You have a special guide to take you around and show you the cool spots; he also takes care and makes sure you don't do anything stupid or injure yourself.
It's so refreshing to breathe in fresh air, then you start to run and jump off a cliff into the fresh water. What an awesome experience. It's such a thrilling moment. You don't get the chance to do this everyday.
Not only are there cliffs and waterfalls to jump from, but many caves too! Although it's a bit difficult to see on the picture, the caves go much deeper and further in. It's sometimes a bit scary, as you think you are going to get stuck or something might happen, but it's all good and safe (I think).
They also take you to the top of the waterfall, which you slowly climb half way down with a rope. After you are about half way down, you jump!
The thrill from climbing down, feeling the waterfall smashing onto you and then taking that leap of faith that nothing underneath you will bash you, is such an awesome feeling!
As you probably already know, I love sharing all these memories with other people, especially with my wonderful girlfriend. This is another experience, we will always cherish. We got to jump from cliffs and waterfalls, dive into caves, swim around fresh water, and lots of goofing around.
I hope you take the chance to grab a few friends and check out Ocho Rios, and if you do, then you definitely should check out Irie Blue Hole & Dunn's River Falls. These are not the only highlights in Ocho Rios, there is so much more, but these were my two highlights.
If you have been to Ocho Rios, what were your highlights? I would love to hear some of your stories.
