The temporary gravesite was made permanent at the site of the Eternal Flame where the funeral for John F Kennedy was held.
From the site of the JFK Eternal Flame monument, you can see the house and property of General Robert E Lee. It's at the top of the hill.
At the time of our trip, the house was under renovation and closed to Arlington pass holders.
Admission to Arlington National Cemetary isn't for the general public. You must have a family member at rest on the grounds or some pull with the Army.
We had both. My father in law laid both his parents, proud service members during WW II, to rest at Arlington.
John also had the great honor of serving Arlington National Cemetary as a member of the old guard.
