Hey lovely Steemit Community!
How is everyone today?
I hope you had a great start into the week 💚
As you might know, I've been in Bali for a couple of weeks now and I spent my first month in Ubud together with my boyfriend. Ubud is the island's cultural center and a place of authentic culture, spirituality and amazing plant-based food.
We love to try the authentic local cuisine wherever we go, but once in a while we also enjoy some so called "wellness food". Since Ubud is a true hub for healthy vegan food, we visited some raw vegan restaurants of which I want to present my 3 very favorite places to you.
Are you ready for some vegan food porn? 😃
1. Sayuri Healing Food
This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Sayuri Healing Food is a raw food cafe that serves 100% plant-based vegan and gluten free (except for the items with soy-sauce) food. All ingredients are organic and high vibrational.
I love Pad Thai (a Thai dish made with rice noodles) but this raw vegan Pad Thai was even better than the original. It was made from coconut and zucchini noodles in a sweet tamarind sauce, almond butter chili and “stir-flied” veggies, a crunchy topping, served with “Sambal Matah” spicy fragrant relish.
Because we visited the place on a Wednesday, we had the pleasure of trying their Wednesday dish which was a raw Norwegian-Style “Gravlax” Open Sandwich. This was a true explosion of flavors and something very special indeed. The vegan "smoked- salmon” was made from papaya with fresh herbs & capers and was served with a cream nut-cheese, lettuce & sprouts on some delicious raw onion flat breads and a freh garden salad with a yummy house dressing.
And then came dessert. When I bit into this creamy and moist caramel heaven cake, I almost cried out of luck. This was one of the best cakes I've ever tried in my life. And I've tried a lot.
If you ever visit Ubud, you have to come here - even if it's only for a piece of cake.
2. Alchemy
Alchemy is a raw vegan restaurant, salad bar, juice and smoothie bar, vegan coffee corner, raw chocolaterie and a holistic clinic offering treatments like colon hydrotherapy. We went there several times: once for my birthday dinner, another time for lunch and we did their 3-days juice cleanse program.
Here you see one of the most delicious items on their menu: Raw vegan Vietnamese spring rolls 💚 The wrap wasn't rice paper but made of dehydrated papaya. The Hoisin dip was out of this world!
One of our favorite mains at Alchemy was their raw vegan cannelloni which are a mushroom ragout wrapped in sliced zucchini served with marinara sauce, cashew "cream cheese",pesto and rocket. Did I mention that this is a 100% RAW vegan place?
Alchemy always has some amazing cakes and desserts on display and we loved this raw vegan black forest cake with cherries inside.
We loved the relaxed atmosphere at Alchemy, staff was super friendly and the food... What can I say? It was pure heaven! You should definitely check this place out when in Ubud!
3. The Seeds of Life
SOL is a Raw Food Cafe and Taiost Tonic Bar that presents clean fresh vibrant living foods that are freshly picked on a daily basis. They serve fresh organic juices, superfood smoothies, delicious raw and vegan desserts, soft centred-tonic-herb filled raw chocolates, superfood bliss balls and much more.
Their menu looks so amazing that we tried almost have of it. Here you see the sundried tomato hummus made of sundried tomato, zucchini and sprouted sesame together with sprouted quinoa falafels.
My very favorite dish at SOL was their raw vegan pizza. The base is made from zucchini and sprouted seeds and herbs and you can choose between 4 toppings. I had the green and red pesto and it was DELICIOUS!
Another very popular dish at SOL is the raw vegan Mexican lasagna made from beetroot, cashew sour cream, avocado and "rawmesan-cheese" (made from nuts and seeds).
We loved the vibe at SOL and are already looking forward to visit them again!
So, what do you think about raw food now?
I hope that this post showed you that (raw) vegan food is not boring and that you won't miss anything if you decide to give the plant-based lifestyle a try.
What did you like best and which one of these delicacies would you like to try?

I'm sure you would love it ♥ The mains were mostly arounf 4-5 USD. Compared to prices in Europe that's very cheap for organic raw vegan food :)
