Do you know the highest and longest cable car in the world? Come and meet him! (in English)

Located in Venezuela, Merida state, is one of the most emblematic tourist attractions of this country, which I had the great opportunity to visit and enjoy, the Mérida Mukumbarí Cable Car Tourist Transport System, or more commonly called Mérida Cable Car or Cable Car Mukumbarí

It is considered the highest and second longest cable car in the world, but the first place is attributed to it since it is the only one that combines so much height with so much length.

Mukumbarí means "place where the sun sleeps" in indigenous language that were first inhabitants of the area.

It has a total distance of 12.5 kilometers. Each cabin can accommodate a maximum capacity of 60 people plus the cabin and, depending on the stage, are of different colors.

This magnificent transport travels through the most beautiful landscapes of the Sierra Nevada National Park and arriving at its last Pico Espejo station. Starting from the city of Mérida, you can start to experience the different mountain climate and the vegetation of the different mountain areas is appreciated in great magnitude.

Here you can see a very characteristic type of vegetation of the first section, which is colloquially called "mountain gray hair" because of its clear white almost white, standing out in the rest of the plants.SAM_3513.JPG

There are a total of 5 stations of this transport, at different altitudes each, which are the following:

· Barinitas Station (at 1577m.snm): In this station you will find a wide variety of services offered to your visitors, from a food fair, baths, to souvenir shops and typical sweets, the boxes to buy tickets, among other things. This station is opposite the famous Plaza de las Heroínas, a space to share with the family before entering the station.

· The mountain station (at 2436m.s.n.m).

· La Aguada Station (at 3452m.s.n.m).

· Loma Redonda Station (at 4045m.s.n.m).

All the previous stations have food services, first aid and different customer services.

· Pico Espejo Station (at 4760m.s.n.m.): It should be noted that the highest peak in Venezuela is at 4980m.s.n.m (Pico Bolívar), which is why medical personnel are always available at all times. in this section most hikers leave for Pico Bolívar. In this station there is also the so-called Virgen De Las Nieves, which can be accessed outside the station by a path that overlooks a large part of the Sierra Nevada National Park, and if you are lucky, you will appreciate a snowfall as did my younger brother.

Among other activities that can be enjoyed in some stations is the horseback ride and a trip to the town of Los Nevados. Also, after 3500m.s.m., more than 86 species of frailejones will be observed, a plant that is only found in this type of climate and are distributed between Venezuela and Colombia.

Thank you for reading about this excellent destination, with all its landscapes, wonder thousands of people, and teach how beautiful and important is nature and all its inhabitants. I would have liked to upload more images, but due to technical failures it was not possible. See you later Steemit friends.
