The extreme North point of New Caledonia : a secluded little heaven

in travel •  7 years ago

Hey guys,

Second day of the road trip around New Caledonia.
I'm at the farest north part of the main island

There is no sealed road, only very bad conditions gravel road.
Barely electricity around and only few habitants.

But there is one place, only one, where you can rest, relax and eat properly.

It is called Relais Poingam where there are bungalows right in front of the sea and a place to camp.
A little restaurant and even wifi. Surprising while being so remote from man land.

It was a very little heaven. I highly suggest this place in case you will go around New Caledonia.
Try the green fresh coconut, freshly get out of the tree.

There is this salty swiming pool right in the ocean. It his actually filled only with sea water, straight from the ocean.

Tomorrow I'll be around Hienghene for one of the best place of New Caledonia

Stay tuned :)

Sounds like my kind of place but where in the world is New Caledonia? I don't think you mentioned that in your post.

It is pretty remote from Europe about 26h hour flight away.

It is at the north east of Australia. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean :)

Okay cool... next time I recommend including that in your post, as a reader I would love to know!
