Traveller : Samburu

As I continue with my journey north of Kenya I travel to Samburu county. Its a place full of life and wondrous features. The county host one of the biggest game reserve full of flora and fauna. Samburu lies in a savanna area which makes it rich for wildlife. Here there are also private ranches and animal conservancy that is run by both the local people and the government. Animals found here range from big cats; lions, leopards, cheetahs to herbivorous like antelope, elephants, dik dik, gazelles to various birds species

The crown of Samburu game reserve is the elephant watch. Their are more than a thousand elephant in the park and they gather in these place within the park to feed and drink. Samburu game reserve is sometimes referred as the elephants bedroom

Down south as your travel you come to an area called Archers Post. Here we find the mighty Ewaso Ngiro river which is the source of water in this area. The river plays host to most of the animals as its the main source of drinking water in this region for the animals.

We cant leave Samburu without talking about the colorful people of this place. They are one of the most hospitable communities and are full of life. They also love color and have preserved their culture and tradition in this modern age
