Today we are doing a "Throwback Thursday" to the first ever Twin Cities Throwdown. At this point, I had only been playing kendama for two months.
In those two months, I began traveling across the Southwestern United States and getting everyone I knew into kendama. Inevitably, I made my way to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The home of Sweets Kendamas.
There, I met the whole Sweets crew, Kendama Minneapolis, and tons of other kendama players. It was at this event that I discovered what it truly meant to be a part of the kendama community. Homies from the beginning, unconditional love, and constant drive to have fun while improving yourself. In the conversations I had there, the support I received in regards to my “odyssey” was overwhelming. I realized that spreading kendama love is what I was born to do.
I’ve been doing it ever since. I am Odyssey.

I had played quite a few times and had friends that were into it. But it never really clicked until a day I went out with them to Red Rocks and they were filming for a kendama video competition, which subsequently we won, and I got my first kendama through. Check out the video if you are interested
A very nice journey @kendama-odyssey
