How to convince someone to Travel?

Okay, let us be honest here. Not everyone is fond of travelling. Not everyone is willing to carry a heavy backpack and trek for 3-4 hours just to reach the summit, and then climb down again. Not everyone is going to sacrifice their Gluta-kissed skin and get sunburned at the beach.

There are human beings that consider it a waste of time, and most of all, a waste of their hard-earned salary. These are the people who would often roll their eyes when you try to convince them to travel with you. I know this, because I was once one of them. I would rather lie in bed, read a book and sleep the day away, than spend it in some distant and unfamiliar place. What changed my mind? I got brokenhearted! LOL. I summoned my courageous inner self, packed my bags, and TADA! I made my first travel!

A lot of people love travelling. Some just don’t feel like doing it. The question is, how can you change their mindset about it? Do you have to pray that they get brokenhearted too? Haha. If you wanna know how, keep on reading.

The best thing about travel is having to experience things you’ve never done before. Sharing it to a friend who doesn’t like to travel, might spark his/her travel ego. That person may travel not because s/he wants to see the beautiful places, but just to experience one specific thing.

For example, that person doesn’t want to go to Thailand, but s/he wants to experience taking care of elephants. Share with him/her the experience you’ve had when taking care of elephants. Eventually, that person will go to Thailand to experience the same thing. Not realizing s/he is taking the first big step in travel life.

✔️SHARE YOUR BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPHY

The most effective way to convince a lazy friend to move his/her feet, is to make her feel jealous of the amazing places you’ve been to. Show that person the pictures, and how much s/he has not seen in this vast breathtaking world. Make her realize that the real world is better than his/her bedroom, or what’s shown in the television.

✔️SHARE YOUR TIPID TIPS (Cheapest or Budget tips)

People doesn’t want to travel because they think it’s expensive and a waste of money. Share to him/her how you manage to travel with a minimal cost; snagging promo fares from online sales, and haggling to get discounts. This will make him/her realize that one does not have to be rich to travel.

✔️OFFER A FREE TRAVEL (Optional)

Still not convinced? Treat that person to a free gateaway! Who would say NO to a free travel? Guys, let’s admit it. We are suckers for freebies; free massage, free mobile loads, free everything! LOL. Maybe this will change your friend’s mind. This way, the only thing they will be bringing is their presence and open-mind. Well, some pocket money of course!

If that friend is still not convinced, well I guess it’s time to leave that person alone. Haha. Just kidding. Don’t give up. Keep on convincing these people to travel with you. They will come around eventually. I know you want them to feel the same feeling you had during travel. That’s the kind of blessing you will be sharing to these people. Especially those people who are lost, lonely, brokenhearted and looking for a permanent distraction and realization. Let them know life is better outside the box.
