I also need some advice and need to spend some time planning out the trip. This will be my first trip out of the United States by myself. Usually the itinerary and flights have been something someone else set up. I'm excited for this adventure.

It'll definitely be something to document as I go along . I hope to see you there and get to know a lot of people on the Curie team. Your work is greatly appreciated!

Not many of us could make it, just a couple of us from Curie will be there. See you!

I haven't heard a whole lot about the hotel rooms themselves. Do you know if they are able to be split?

Split? maybe on individual negotiations ;) lol

Does anyone know of reputable hostels in Amsterdam?

Maybe you could visit some #travel-local destinations.
Maybe arrange to meet the authors.

Personally, I would recommend to put Barcelona on the list.
I think it's cheap to go there from Amsterdam Schipol and it's off-season in Barcelona during November.

Had several Barcelona recommendations too! Perhaps I shall do that :)

I see you there ! I get an airbnb flat but couch surfing is pretty cool . If you want to travel cheap jump on FlixBus . I go from Munich to Vienna ( 5 hours ) for only 19 Euro . More tips per FB ! Can't wait to meet you in Amsterdam . Oh , I have a room in Vienna :)

Noted.. expanding my options, thanks @mammasitta!

That's pretty exciting man! I've been over the pond a couple times myself, but during the myspace years. I think Vienna would be a rich cultural experience, I found it to be full of palaces, busts, and easy to navigate streets. If you're staying off the beaten path, I feel like a visit to Estonia would be awesome. Apparently they're the Mecca for inturnetz and tech. Either way, looking forward to your post steemfest travel adventures. 2-4 weeks just for travel must be nice

I'd need to get some internet deal though since I'm still going to be a lil busy with Curie.. taken note @prufarchy thanks for the recommendations!

That should be a great experience having several weeks to explore! Coming from Arizona, my girlfriend and I are trying to make it to Steem Fest. Hope to see you there.

Yeap it'll be great, although I'd still have to ration some of my time dedicated for Curie's works. See you there!

I'll try to go on the next steemfest.

I am trying to make this trip too! Fate intervened and I lost my father on the fifth and had to cancel. But I am still trying to make it. And most probably I will!
I look forwards to meeting all of you!

Sorry to hear about your lost @norbu. In any case, hope you're able to make it!

In case you're interested in Amsterdams Coffeeshop culture, that might help you to avoid getting ripped off, esp. if you're on a slim budget there might be some good hints inside for you.

Stay safe too brother! Read up on tourist traps and possible scams?

I got that covered :)
