Sharing some photos of the hike we did on our first day. This was in Monarch Lake, not in the Rocky Mountains National Park proper but in Granby, CO area.
We took the easiest hike, which is a loop trail around the lake, about 4.4 miles. Took about 2.5 hours of a leisurely paced hike. We had kids and senior citizens (my parents, who are thankfully still very fit) in our group, but everyone was able to enjoy it.
Not sure what this is, but was on a part of the trail. Some old steam engine, perhaps?
You can see, how clean and clear the water in this unspoilt lake is!
Again, I do not think my photos give justice to the actual beauty of the place, but I hope you enjoyed what I can share.
A quiet and peaceful place. I like it!
