We are getting ready for Independence Day, one of my favorite celebrations of the year!

In the American Pavilion in Epcot, they have a fabulous display of flags. It definitely sparks the patriotic spirit.

As an:   American, Marine Corps Veteran, Citizen Soldier, as well as Former Service Officer and current Life-time member of The American Legion; I commend you on making this post.

Tomorrow, 4 July 2019, we Americans will celebrate our Independence from the United Kingdom of England. I will celebrate by rereading the Constitution of the United States as well as the Farewell Address of President George Washington. These documents are important for me to remember why I am proud to be an American and from where my patriotism should stem.

I wish to leave you with a quote from President Washington's Farewell Address which has always made my heart beat a little faster:

Though, in reviewing the incidents of my administration, I am unconscious of intentional error, I am nevertheless too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many errors. Whatever they may be, I fervently beseech the Almighty to avert or mitigate the evils to which they may tend. I shall also carry with me the hope, that my Country will never cease to view them with indulgence; and that, after forty-five years of my life dedicated to its service with an upright zeal, the faults of incompetent abilities will be consigned to oblivion, as myself must soon be to the mansions of rest.

                                                                                                               —General George Washington
                                                                                                                 President Of The United States
                                                                                                                 April 30, 1789–March 4, 1797

I wish you and yours an enjoyable and safe Independence Day Weekend!
