We Are In TEXAS! Part 2 ~ The Ocean and Ferry Ride 📷 [MY Video inside]

in travel •  7 years ago

VIDEO 1:

We left Beaumont, Texas this morning and in two hours arrived in Galveston and the Gulf of Mexico. The kiddos got their first sight and taste of ocean water.

Then we hopped on board a local ferry provided for free by the Texas Department of Transportation to get us over to the other side of the highway so we could continue our journey. Next stop, the Alamo and San Antonio Riverwalk. The boys have been learning about Davy Crockett and the battle that was fought there. They also enjoy watching the 1985 movie, "Cloak and Dagger" and we will be visiting some of the places the movie was filmed at around the city.

VIDEO 2:

Be sure to check out the videos we post tomorrow night from our adventures in San Antonio!

ENJOY THE VIDEO!

Love the kids reactions at the beach, lol. My 8 year old was watching too.
love the tzitzit too.

Yeah we are going to go to some beaches in Florida at some point.

not advisable today, lol, tropical storms. although that would probably be their first tropical storm too

Upvoted and RESTEEMED :)

It really looks so windy. Nice family videos . thanks for posting

I took a ferry like that one time to galveston. It didn't leave from Beaumont though. I was in my truck. When I delivered in Galveston I took it back...saved fighting traffic on I-35. It was fun.

sounds like a great trip - thanks for sharing.. still have Texas on my list of places next time I get over to the US

Good stuff man, gave you an UV and I will raise you one decent EDC multi tool.

LOL

Sharing for everybody to follow along as the kids get to have some fun in Texas!

That sounds like a great learning experience. I hope someday I can take my children on awesome fieldtrips too. Homeschooling is definitely the way to go. Government sponsored education keeps getting worse and worse.

Have a good vacation guys!

I love the ocean! That was one of the hardest thing to leave when we moved from a coastal state. I'm so glad that the boys got to experience it! I always feel such awe of the greatness of God when I'm there. I look forward to sharing in the rest of your trip. Thanks!

Wow, their first time seeing the ocean--there's nothing like going barefoot on the beach and feeling the waves wash over your feet :) Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation!
